Symas OpenLDAP 2.6 Ubuntu 18.04 LTS

Supported through version: 2.6.8-2

Note: This OS release has reached its end of support from its developers. As such, there will be no package builds past 2.6.8-2.

If you are still using this version, please contact Symas support who can help you migrate to a more recent version.

Please be sure and read the relevant upgrade instructions if this is not a new installation.

All commands to be run as the root user.

Install Symas OpenLDAP 2.6:


For the very first installation on a system you must install Symas' GPG signing key:

apt-key adv --keyserver keyserver.ubuntu.com --recv-keys DA26A148887DCBEB


  1. wget -q https://repo.symas.com/configs/SOLDAP/u18/release26.list -O /etc/apt/sources.list.d/soldap-release26.list
  2. apt update
  3. apt install symas-openldap-clients symas-openldap-server
  4. Configure OpenLDAP
  5. Review systemd configuration
  6. systemctl start slapd
